About First Batch Hospitality

Founded by Brian Leventhal and John Stires, First Batch Hospitality champions a new, accessible approach to wine and winemaking. The hospitality group presents working wineries set against metropolitan backdrops, complete with private event spaces, restaurants, and tasting rooms. With locations in Brooklyn, New York; Washington, D.C.; and Chicago, Illinois, First Batch Hospitality is proud to tailor its concepts to represent the local creativity and exemplary hospitality of the neighborhoods it calls home.

Our locations:

  • Chicago Winery: The newest addition to the First Batch family is set in Chicago’s artsy River North neighborhood and includes a 2,000-square-foot winemaking facility and barrel room, along with a four-season terrace for private events.
  • Brooklyn Winery: This OG boutique urban winery in trendy Williamsburg proved the concept. It’s known for its premium small-batch wines that combine the quality of tradition with the freedom of innovation.
  • District Winery: Set in the heart of The Yards, a bustling community in DC’s Navy Yard along the Anacostia River, this location was the District’s first operational commercial winery.
